I’ve been blogging for 2 and a half years now. There have been ups and downs, times where it even felt like I’d completely forgotten my blog existed. But I’ve persisted. I’ve been blogging long enough now that I’ve seen other blogs slow down or disappear completely. That’s why whenever I notice a little victory, it should be acknowledged, if not celebrated. I’m talking about blog stats – you know, the really fun, interesting bit.
Who doesn’t want to be liked? I know there are people out there that say they have transcended and just DGAF. But for the rest of us, even if it is not the ultimate validation, it’s still nice to be liked. Especially on Instagram.
I can’t speak for everyone but I blog because it makes me happy. I do not make a penny from this. In fact, at times, it’s been quite an expensive hobby with the add ons to the website, security features, domain registrations, buying products to test and what not. But no matter what, I keep writing.
LINK TO THE VIDEO Sometimes you just need your music to be loud. The Foo Fighters fulfil that need for me. Their back catalogue is quite impressive so there are a lot of songs to choose from.
I’ve been here before, wanting to better myself, to lose weight, to get rid of my debt. And with all the changes I’m making in my life at the moment, having felt I was heading towards rock bottom, I have a good feeling that the changes I’m making right now, might just work. I’ve been focusing on food (health and diet) and money a lot recently (like I mentioned in my Afro Hair and Beauty Live post, I was dying to buy stuff, a lot of stuff) and I realised there are so many parallels between the process of getting…
LINK TO THE VIDEO I can’t even describe this sound. This is music like I’ve never heard. I have many a list of products to try, places to go and albums to buy (because some people haven’t yet come round to the idea of Spotify!) and this artist, Jack Garrett, is on the list of albums for sure. I will admit, if you don’t tell anyone, that I like to dance to this when I’m alone like I’m some sort of contemporary dancer, because I don’t think you can dance to this in a normal “club” sort of way. Anyway,…
I have started this blog to chronicle my hair journey and the positive changes I want to make in my life which I am I so excited about. To do this, I have to write and maintain this site. So practising my writing means having to learn how to build a website. This is so much harder than I was expecting. You see all these adverts, start a blog in five minutes, it takes seconds to create a website, it’s so easy, any idiot can do it. Well, I must have lost my Idiot’s Guide To Creating A Website. To…
I said a Temporary Goodbye to this blog on the 20th July 2018 while I went on my first big family holiday with my kids (which ticked off a place on my travel bucket list) and had a much-needed social media break. The hope was that I would rejuvenate myself while being scared of FOMO and potentially losing some of my inspiration, passion and motivation for the blog.
I shaved my head not long before my youngest kid turned one. My biggest regret on my healthy hair journey was not shaving it when he was born. New kid, no hair, fresh start. Then I could have tracked my hair growth alongside his. But as regrets go in life, that’s pretty minor.
Well that was a post title I didn’t think I’d be writing. But I guess what this is all about before I get into it, is to look after yourself but more importantly listen to yourself. I’m just documenting my little “health scare.” I’m glad of a positive outcome because it’s quite easy to get freaked out when you start getting chest pains and are immediately sent for your first ECG.
