A Pictorial: Clay Wash Day

I only use Bentonite Clay every 4 weeks to cleanse my hair but I genuinely look forward to that particular wash day. If Bentonite was a person, I would gush about them all day. I was stocking up on clay and I was trying to make an order up to a certain amount on the Anita Grant website and so I decided to try out the Rhassoul Deep Condish and Double Cream as well.  And when it was time to bring the Bentonite out again, I thought, why not pair it with the Rhassoul and see what happens?

Detangling, Hair, Kids Hair

Wash Day Notes: Wash And Go?

I’ve been battling the detangling demons with my kids for a while, specifically with my eldest. We’ve found our groove, moving from protective style to protective style. It’s been great. She’s even taking some responsibility for her hair. It seems that I’m clearly heavy handed because she brushes her hair just fine by herself. Not as thorough as me but she’s only 8. HOWEVER…

Length Check – 4 Years!!!!!

Four whole years. Four whole years. FOUR WHOLE YEARS. I could keep saying it but it still wouldn’t sound real. I’ve committed to something for four whole years. And I’m still enjoying it (on the most part). And I’m finding success (even though I’ve redefined what that is a few times). But whew, four whole years. Type 4 hair is no joke!

Length Check: 3 Years 9 Months

As I said on Instagram, I look tired in this photo but this is with a filter on. With a filter on, ladies and gentlemen! This is real life and real life is under eye bags, dull skin and a general sense of malaise. But ooo, doesn’t my hair look good!

Twist Out 2020: The Finished Product

Hello again! And yes I am still banging on about my Twist Out (part one) but here we get to the Finished Product! Just a quick disclaimer before I get into this, I am looking miserable a lot here but I guess I was so focused on the hair in the pics, I forgot to smile!

Detangling: Something That Works?

A little while, like 8 months ago, so not that little, I was planning on starting a series on detangling. I was particularly exasperated at the time with all 3 kids hair. If it wasn’t for the crying and childhood trauma it would likely cause, I’d do to theirs what I did to mine. In a heartbeat. Shave it all off! But maybe I’ve found something that works?
