It doesn’t look like much but two strand twists are honestly the way forward for me.

You will have noticed I started telling you about this Clay Wash Day last week (head on back over if you’d like) but here’s the best bit…what it looked like after all the clays were washed out. It’s my favourite bit anyway!

I only use Bentonite Clay every 4 weeks to cleanse my hair but I genuinely look forward to that particular wash day. If Bentonite was a person, I would gush about them all day. I was stocking up on clay and I was trying to make an order up to a certain amount on the Anita Grant website and so I decided to try out the Rhassoul Deep Condish and Double Cream as well.  And when it was time to bring the Bentonite out again, I thought, why not pair it with the Rhassoul and see what happens?

I’ve been battling the detangling demons with my kids for a while, specifically with my eldest. We’ve found our groove, moving from protective style to protective style. It’s been great. She’s even taking some responsibility for her hair. It seems that I’m clearly heavy handed because she brushes her hair just fine by herself. Not as thorough as me but she’s only 8. HOWEVER…

So it was a bit optimistic to think that I would be able to do a blog post about my wash days every few weeks. Yea…no, that’s not going to happen. This feature will definitely be a once in a while sort of thing. But this one is kind of special. Because I’m using generic shampoo and conditioner, or more specifically, gift set Shampoo and Conditioner. Extra special due to it’s mundanity. Enter Baylis & Harding. Looking after your natural or curly, kinky, coarse hair can feel like a chore. Sometimes it can feel like a thankless task. Results can be slow. Products may not work. Twist outs may fail. But if you stick to a routine and persevere, you’ll hit your goals. That’s what they say…

Okay, I won’t be needing the wide tooth comb, or any comb, anytime soon. I’m looking forward to when I do though! Week three and counting…I was previously talking about my routine, my old bad habits, the things I want to do going forward, the so-called rules of good hair and also the new techniques and terms that I’ve learnt.
