I’ve been here before, wanting to better myself, to lose weight, to get rid of my debt. And with all the changes I’m making in my life at the moment, having felt I was heading towards rock bottom, I have a good feeling that the changes I’m making right now, might just work. I’ve been focusing on food (health and diet) and money a lot recently (like I mentioned in my Afro Hair and Beauty Live post, I was dying to buy stuff, a lot of stuff) and I realised there are so many parallels between the process of getting…
Old pic. Old problem. New me? I’m on one of those healthy living kicks again. I’ve no idea why I keep putting myself through this. Oh yea because I’m unhealthy. I eat crap, I feel crap and I just want to do better. Be better.
Nope. Not now. Not yet. Maybe tomorrow.
When it comes to shopping, I will be the first to admit that I. Am. Not. Loyal. Not one bit. You offer me great products at great prices with great service and you got me! But beware, you have to keep those standards up or I’ll move on. I’m not playing.
I’ve been opening my laptop over and over and achieving nothing. I’m not in love with this blog right now. I’ve lost my mojo and my momentum. I think most bloggers must go through this. Almost 2 whole years in, I’ve been doing this for a while. And hearing statistics like most blogs don’t last more than 6 months, makes me proud. Proud enough to battle through and write something.
This length check is well overdue.
I said a Temporary Goodbye to this blog on the 20th July 2018 while I went on my first big family holiday with my kids (which ticked off a place on my travel bucket list) and had a much-needed social media break. The hope was that I would rejuvenate myself while being scared of FOMO and potentially losing some of my inspiration, passion and motivation for the blog.
I love Boots. Mostly I love collecting Boots Advantage points. I know I’m a sucker. But they do have one of the best loyalty schemes on the high street. They also stock a huge range of products, high-end, low-end, the middle ground. Everything. What they also have is a very decent own brand range of products. In fact, almost everything they sell has a Boots own equivalent. Like this Boots Essentials Cucumber skincare range. This is the value range. But with it being Boots, surely it’s still pretty good, right?
I’ve noticed that even though I’ve been attempting to eat better my weight isn’t budging. I am maintaining which would be great if I was happy with it but I really do think I could do with being a little lighter and definitely shedding some inches around my waist. I mean, I like the idea of reducing the risk of diabetes, cancer and heart disease. Just saying!
A few days after starting the Soap & Glory product range in early July, I got ID’ed for a scratchcard…twice. I didn’t have my driving licence so I walked away from the till, embarrassed and robbed of my almost definite winning scratchcards. Needless to say I haven’t tried buying a card since but I attribute this recent change in how people view my age 100% down to this range of products…haha, not quite! But it’s quite the curious coincidence.
