A few days after starting the Soap & Glory product range in early July, I got ID’ed for a scratchcard…twice. I didn’t have my driving licence so I walked away from the till, embarrassed and robbed of my almost definite winning scratchcards. Needless to say I haven’t tried buying a card since but I attribute this recent change in how people view my age 100% down to this range of products…haha, not quite! But it’s quite the curious coincidence.
This is my first official twisting of my hair since I shaved it all off in November 2016. I say official, because I have twisted it as a way to section my hair before braiding a couple of times. But this was the first time it was the intended style. Although it took me a little getting used to, I really liked it! I liked how it felt to run my hand through my hair. The braids are in. You could be fooled into thinking your job is done. That’s what I used to think. But I know better now. You need to love your hair if your fro is out and free BUT also if it is tightly tucked away.
I will start by telling you that I had high hopes for this mask. It sounds great, Strawberry Souffle, yum. It makes you think of strawberries obviously (high in vitamin C, acidic so helpful with scars and great for tightening pores – see here for more) but the souffle part had me thinking I might have a cheeky little lick of my upper lip while it dried. So here goes practice number 5. I do not have a perfect marriage. Sometimes we argue, mostly bickering and usually very quickly moved on from. But I don’t see my life without my husband and when I think about it, I swear, sometimes it brings me to tears. But again, it’s not perfect. Nothing is. I hope that when people see us, they see a happy family, with flaws of course, but not people trying to project an unattainable level of happiness. Here we go again! I don’t remember where this week’s idea came from but I really liked it (if I do say so myself). It really does! I had read a few articles about ACV (another abbreviation to learn). I read about how great it is at cleansing your hair of product buildup. Also in reducing frizz (not a massive problem when you’ve less than an inch of hair) and adding shine. Some even use this exclusively to wash their hair when they feel the buildup is too much. My gorgeous son. My gorgeous-looks-like-butter-wouldn’t-melt-son. Well butter would melt, he’s a hot-headed little monster…at times. I love him but he can be a real handful. So he caused a scene while I was witnessing a scene, so I’ll get that first scene out of the way first. I was at the bank, one of the places that I loathe the most. This would have seemed like an odd question a few months ago. But now I know that it’s so important to better understand my actual hair. Using the most common hair typing system, there are 4 types of hair, straight, wavy, curly and kinky. Mine is definitely in the fourth category of kinky. And I love it.
