Song Of The Month – November 2017 – Babooshka by Kate Bush

LINK TO THE VIDEO I had a very short Kate Bush phase in my late teens and early 20s. To be fair not much stuck except for a few hits like Wuthering Heights and Babooshka. I was singing Babooshka at the top of my lungs in front of the kids with the video playing in the background. I don’t think they get it…just yet. I always thought I knew the words until I stumbled onto a lyric video and as I read them, I realised that it’s quite an intense story in such a short song. I suppose I spent…

End of Bottle Review: Garnier Body Beauty Oil-Infused Nourishing Lotion

I hadn’t really planned on reviewing anything that is used below the neck but I found this and I swear it made me rethink that idea. I may have been a little biased when choosing this product because it is “oil-infused.” Knowing how good oil is for my hair, this said to me that this must be better than your average lotion.

SEO: What’s That All About Then?

SEO, huh, good god What is it good for? Absolutely EVERYTHING, listen to me! And if you don’t know that reference, get off my page…now! Just kidding, I need the likes. I spent a lot of time avoiding using SEO because I didn’t like the idea of it but I had that light-bulb moment. The one where you realise you don’t know it all. So this post is my novice take on SEO, which may or may not be useful for other bloggers, would be bloggers and blog readers who want to know what goes on behind the scenes. Please…

End Of The Bottle Review: Palmer’s Manuka Flower Honey Nourishing Conditioner

This stuff smells delightful. Smell is very important to me when it comes to the products I put on my hair and skin. I suppose after the visual of the product, the smell is the next way you experience it. If it smells bad, it will psychologically affect how you experience the product. You’re not going to enjoy something that smells awful as it touches your hair and skin. This smells great so when it says nourishing, you expect it to be really good for your hair. Well let’s see how that pans out.

End Of The Tub Review: SheaMoisture Superfruit 10-In-1 Renewal System Conditioner and Hair Masque

As we all know, SheaMoisture is one of the largest natural hair care brands in the world even after their recent marketing missteps. If you cannot be bothered to read ingredients lists or are just looking for a brand that is more likely than not suitable for a healthy hair journey then I would say they are a good place to start. I know there is talk that some of their formulations have been watered down and altered but they do promise to not contain sulphates, parabens, mineral oil, paraffin and some of the other healthy hair care big bads.…

Song Of The Month – October 2017 – Trick Me By Kelis

LINK TO THE VIDEO Considering this is primarily a hair blog I suppose that I would be remiss if I didn’t have Kelis somewhere on here. I’ve liked all of her albums and this is one of my favourite songs of hers after “Get Along With You”, “Caught Out There”, “Mafia”, “4th of July”…

Progress Check – September 2017

If you saw my last post you’ll know that I started a little craft project up in my hair. I’m still not sure how I feel about that but it’s all in aid of getting a head full of good, healthy hair. Progress is key, no matter how small. I will have to come to terms with the fact that in order for me to get to my desired length (#journeytotailbonelength), I will need to lose some hair. Anyway, there have been other goings on in the journey from being Woeful and getting to FroFull. Here’s the rundown…

Snip, Snip, Snip: Why Trimming Is Fundamental

Trimming. I didn’t want to do it. I really didn’t want to do it. I even went on a forum asking if my “symptoms” meant I actually needed to trim. I knew they did, I just didn’t want to admit it. I DID NOT WANT TO TRIM MY HAIR. Especially since the fro was looking frolicious at my last length check.
