LINK TO THE VIDEO I’m an eighties kid so this will always be the gold standard version of this song.
LINK TO THE VIDEO I went through a very short but intense Fleetwood Mac phase when I was younger.
LINK TO THE VIDEO Forgive the video quality, looks like I recorded this off a TV with a camcorder in the 90s.
LINK TO THE VIDEO I was lucky enough to see the Arctic Monkeys at Glastonbury when they were touring their first album. I’ve seen quite a few bands live but honestly this set was one of the best.
LINK TO THE VIDEO Now when I went to see The Streets, I just went for something to do. I wasn’t a fan but a night out in Yorkshire with one of my very good, old friends, a gig and lots of alcohol, I was in! It didn’t take long for me to become a fan, about 10 minutes into the concert. They were so different live than what I’d heard on the radio.
LINK TO THE VIDEO There aren’t that many black people in alternative music. We almost always get pigeonholed into hip hop, RnB, reggae etc. and as much as I love all those styles and that was what I was brought up on, I love most styles of music. LINK TO THE VIDEO Do you remember that time when Eminem was literally the most important person in whole entire world of music? I even bought Angry Blonde which was a book about his songs, the lyrics, the inspirations. I loved him but I had friends that were obsessed with him. The way these young whipper snappers are obsessed with One Direction, Fifth Harmony, Taylor Swift and even Queen Bey. I bet if we had Twitter then, they would have been hardcore trolls for him, haha, thank goodness for growing up in the Dark Ages! Follow me on YouTube to…
I said a Temporary Goodbye to this blog on the 20th July 2018 while I went on my first big family holiday with my kids (which ticked off a place on my travel bucket list) and had a much-needed social media break. The hope was that I would rejuvenate myself while being scared of FOMO and potentially losing some of my inspiration, passion and motivation for the blog.
