Journey To Not Being A Product Junkie

Not too long ago, I told you about trying to end my product junkie ways. Props to me because I haven’t  bought any hair products since the end of October. I’m very proud of myself but it also illustrates how many products I had.

As you can see in the picture above, my cupboard is still full. But it’s not as bad as it looks, I promise. I’ve actually now gone down from a box with the stuff needed on a daily basis, like leave-ins and spritzes, two shelves in this cupboard and another very deep shelf in the bathroom to just the box and these shelves.

I’ve been able to move all my oils in – Castor, Jojoba, Sweet Almond, Olive, Marula, Grapeseed etc into here, plus all my essential oils, clays and butters.

I have to admit it has been very tempting to buy stuff. I think I have a very different version of what fully stocked up is and I don’t feel very stocked up right now. But I’m getting used to having less and less and less.

I’m looking forward to using up what we have but more excited to revisit products I’ve loved and get some consistency. I think what I realised is that being a product junkie is tiring. I’ve got a few more things I’m really excited about still though – Melanin Haircare and Earth Elixir especially.

Anyway, just wanted you to know I’m making progress, slow, slow progress!

Let’s keep growing together!
