I can tell you exactly where I was the very first time I heard this song. It’s such a vivid memory for me, which is weird because my memory is absolute sh*t!
We (me and my now husband) were on our way home from Glastonbury. Part of the great unwashed horde travelling out of Somerset back to our respective homes. If you’ve ever been to Glastonbury, once you leave, one of the most welcome sights is the Sainsbury’s a couple of miles away from the festival. A great pit stop for food, a quick wash and/ or the loo.
It was there in the car park, while my husband had popped inside for sustenance, over the airwaves of Radio 1 through the car speaker came this glorious song I’d never heard before. I instantly knew it was Pharrell. There’s no mistaking that man’s sound, even on a track like I’d never heard before.
I can’t say I’m the biggest dance music fan but when it’s good, it’s good. And this song is so good. I don’t think I knew who the Swedish House Mafia where before, although I’d heard of all the individuals that make this collective as solo artists – Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso – but as a group, no idea. And I’ll be honest, the only other song of theirs that I can think of is One (the version of this track without Pharrell).
But it’s one of my favourite songs of all time and I wanted to share it with you. Plus I get to add Pharrell into my Song of The Month Playlist again!
Follow me on YouTube to watch the whole playlist. So here it goes, press play, listen and love it!
Let’s keep growing together!
