The Inversion Method Part 1 – Upside Down You’re Turning Me…

I came across the Inversion Method on Pinterest because people claiming they can grow their hair 1 inch in 1 week is pin worthy indeed. And yes, that is what they claim. Obviously you can’t verify the timeframe of people’s before and after. But as there doesn’t seem to be a wonder product that’s being advertised, I can’t see why people would lie. Oh how gullible I am! I suppose it could be a conspiracy between all the hair oil companies in the world. However, I’ll try not to be too cynical. There are a lot more people out there…

My Hair Routine: Taking Notes

I work in admin so I think my immediate reaction to things that are new and detailed is to take notes. I think my reaction to pretty much anything is to take notes. I used to have bits of paper all over the place. Then I got a bit more organised and would frantically scribble in notebooks and then scribble out what I had achieved, leading to pages of text you couldn’t read as I’d crossed it all out. Then I noticed the notes section in my phone and had all my notes categorised on there. But these days, I…

Still at it 6 months later. Growing slowly but definitely growing. I’m most definitely below the 0.5 inches a month that’s the average but I’m starting to get to grips with the realisation that’s not me. And I should be happy I’m not average, right? There isn’t much I can do about it, possibly the Inversion Method which supposedly will increase growth to 1 inch a week. What?! When I say I suppose I’ll give that a try, what I mean is that I will most certainly be doing that every day until the end of time! I’ll talk about…

Her Curls

Apparently if you braid or plait your hair and it curls like this at the ends, it means it’s healthy. I’ve been snipping away at her ends a little bit every time I’ve braided them over the last few weeks and this week I styled her hair and the end of every plait curled perfectly. Scissors go bye-bye for a few more weeks now. It was definitely a very satisfying moment for me. I suppose I must be doing something right! I love her hair, I love the way it curls, I love the colour, the feel, everything. I’ve got…

Steps To Include In Your Regimen

When I started looking into proper hair care there where so many terms and phrases that I was negligent of. I was way left of a lazy natural and I suppose and I should more accurately be described as a hair deadbeat. All of the different processes and time it may take to carry them out were and still are overwhelming. I’ve talked about a few of these and will be talking about the rest at some point, it’s a lot to learn but at least we can learn together! So for the uninitiated, here are just a few steps…

Now I Know My Hair…(cont’d)

Now where was I… So that miracle oil, coconut oil may not actually be a miracle for me with my low porosity follicles. Which is a great shame as I have about 14 jars on top of a cupboard in my house. Oops! So some say it is too heavy for my type of hair but I honestly say I am on the fence about it. I’ve had no ill effects using it, I quite like it, not just how it makes my hair feel but, and this may make me a bit of a freak, I like melting it…

Week 3: My Old Hair Care Routine vs My New Hair Care Routine (Part 2)

Okay, I won’t be needing the wide tooth comb, or any comb, anytime soon. I’m looking forward to when I do though! Week three and counting…I was previously talking about my routine, my old bad habits, the things I want to do going forward, the so-called rules of good hair and also the new techniques and terms that I’ve learnt. To that end, I will pick up where I left off.

Week 2: My Old Hair Care Routine vs My New Hair Care Routine (Part 1)

As you can see, I’m making some real progress here. It’s crazy that the photos I took to announce my baldness to the world, beautifully taken by my lovely husband, are now out of date. I had that look for such a short amount of time, I’m not even sure if it was worth going THAT short.

One Week On, Still Bald…Sort Of

I guess there is no going back now! I’m not sure why it has taken me a week to fully come to that realisation but I’m here now. It’s all still looking a little bare up there but if I run my hand over my head there are short little hairs on every inch of my scalp. You can even see it from a distance. Not too far, maybe about 3 feet but there is definitely something there.
