End Of Tub Review: Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Smoothing Shampoo

I’ll keep this short and sweet because I’m pretty much over shampoo at this point. In fact, I don’t really need it.To put this in perspective, the only reason I’m on to my second bottle of the Palmer’s Olive Oil Smoothing Shampoo is because I have gremlins in my bathroom that use my products without asking! I am naming no names…

Shampoos traditionally are to clean your hair. To do this they have to be strong enough to dissolve, strip away, basically destroy the dirt and grime in your hair. Some of us need to shampoo more than others, I did just fine every week or couple of weeks. But once you decide to cowash (wash with conditioner only), what role does shampoo play in your hair care?

It is still essential because even a cleansing cowash may not be sufficient to actually give your hair a clean slate to add more product to. Yes, cowashing is great because it keeps your hair feeling soft and moisturised AND it can help in cleaning your hair, but this is not its main aim so having a decent shampoo in your arsenal is essential.

And that’s what I’d call this, a decent shampoo. My gremlin thinks it’s pretty good too. It lathers like crazy which is one of those psychological signs to me that a product is working but I don’t think it’s actually a true indicator of anything. It has a pleasant non-offensive smell. When it’s used on its own, my hair does feel clean but not dried out. I generally use it with the added cleansing power of the mighty Apple Cider Vinegar , which really does stink but only for a little while.

I guess I haven’t really talked about the shampoo in detail (oops). But it’s hero ingredient is Olive Oil. Olive Oil is known to tame frizz and soften your hair. When used on its own or in an oil blend it’s great to help seal in moisture. Another great ingredient that is highlighted is Vitamin E which can smooth split ends and promote circulation to the scalp.

On top of having no sulphates or parabens, it now has no phthalates, mineral or gluten. All I know is that it smells the same and has a few extras that should make it even better.

Basically, if you mainly cowash like me, this is a great no fuss shampoo that gets the job done. When you need a little extra cleansing power and don’t want to strip your hair of moisture, this is a good go to.Shampoo - Palmer's Olive Oil

Let’s keep growing together!
