That Whole GDPR Thing

Just a quick little post to make sure I am as GDPR compliant as I possibly can be! This is new legislation that comes into force on 25th May 2018 that you may or may not have received a million emails about by now. I’m a little late in saying anything because my email list was deleted a little while ago and the majority of my traffic is from search engines or through WordPress but for my current and future readers, all the millions of you, this is for you. So first things first – here is a link to…

Length Check – 18 Months – More Than Hair

Another quarter of the year has gone which means it’s time for another update! Hair. It’s the thing that grows on your head, that helps keep the heat in, that can add another dimension to a look. And when you lose it, voluntarily like me, you re-think what it means to you. You think about a lot of stuff really. In fact, you just realise that hair is more than just hair.

Song Of The Month – May 2018 – On & On By Erykah Badu

LINK TO THE VIDEO I’m just over half way through my headwrapping photo project on Instagram and it’s time for my Song of The Month.  So when it came to a musical artist that inspired me and also I could picture their crowns wrapped in  beautiful fabric, who else other than Erykah Badu. I know these days she is known for flaunting her immense natural hair either loose or threaded up but when I was younger, all I remember where her impossibly high headwraps. She’s quite an intense human being from interviews I’ve seen and read, she is truly a…

Head Wraps

You’ve seen the girls (and boys) who are wearing a headwrap and you just think to yourself….”How in the hell?” The wrap defies gravity, the folds are impossible, the colours and patterns are otherworldly. At least that’s what I thought, so whenever I wore one I kept it super simple. I was scared to experiment and find out what I could do. But I decided that there’s nothing to be afraid of, what’s the worst that could happen? Maybe I look silly, it blows off in the wind or I wrap it too tight, I cut off my circulation and…

End Of The Range Review: YourGoodSkin

I wasn’t in the market for more skin care products or any products at all. I’m a product junkie and I’ve pretty much filled my shelf in the bathroom. And spilled onto the other shelf. And in another cupboard too. Not to mention the products that are out because I’m actually using them. They are everywhere, down the side of the sofa, on windowsills, even in the fridge. So the only thing to do would be…to buy more obviously. In steps YourGoodSkin.

End Of Tube Review: Cantu Care For Kids Curling Cream

Damn that tube looks like it’s seen some things. Bashed to hell, the label coming off in my hand every time I touch it. I have to admit that I’m a bit on the fence about how important curl patterns are to me and my kids. Sometimes its a thing that bothers me. Other days I’m just grateful that all of my little people stayed still long enough for me to spritz their hair. First and foremost, I’m interested in all of our hair being properly moisturised. Healthy hair will look good and that is ultimately the goal. Healthy hair.…

End Of The Range Review: Boots Essentials Cucumber

I love Boots. Mostly I love collecting Boots Advantage points. I know I’m a sucker. But they do have one of the best loyalty schemes on the high street. They also stock a huge range of products, high-end, low-end, the middle ground. Everything. What they also have is a very decent own brand range of products. In fact, almost everything they sell has a Boots own equivalent. Like this Boots Essentials Cucumber skincare range. This is the value range. But with it being Boots, surely it’s still pretty good, right?

Song of the Month

Song Of The Month – April 2018 – 2U By David Guetta and Justin Bieber

LINK TO THE VIDEO I am loathed to add Justin Bieber to my definitive list of songs I love because I am a grown ass woman but goddammit, he makes fairly good music (now) especially when he collabs with dance DJs. It’s just a winning formula for the guy, it was a toss up between this or “Where R U Now” with Skrillex but this one caught me in the right mood so here you go. Follow me on YouTube to watch the whole playlist. So here it goes, press play, listen and love it. Let’s keep growing! xx Lee…

SNAPSHOT: What I’m Using – March 2018

Here’s a quick snapshot of what I’m currently using on my hair and skin: HAIR Leave In Water or Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-In Conditioner Oil KTC Coconut Oil or Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil Cream Cantu Coconut Curling Cream or Anita Grant Double Cream Moisture Balance Leave In Curl Conditioner or Revlon Realistic Black Seed Oil Strengthening Butter Cream (my hair is feeling super soft at the moment, I put it down to these creams but would say the Anita Grant is the winner although a little pricey for the size). Styler n/a Prepoo KTC Coconut Oil Shampoo…
