End Of The Bottle Review: Palmer’s Manuka Flower Honey Nourishing Conditioner

This stuff smells delightful. Smell is very important to me when it comes to the products I put on my hair and skin. I suppose after the visual of the product, the smell is the next way you experience it. If it smells bad, it will psychologically affect how you experience the product. You’re not going to enjoy something that smells awful as it touches your hair and skin. This smells great so when it says nourishing, you expect it to be really good for your hair. Well let’s see how that pans out.

End Of The Tub Review: SheaMoisture Superfruit 10-In-1 Renewal System Conditioner and Hair Masque

As we all know, SheaMoisture is one of the largest natural hair care brands in the world even after their recent marketing missteps. If you cannot be bothered to read ingredients lists or are just looking for a brand that is more likely than not suitable for a healthy hair journey then I would say they are a good place to start. I know there is talk that some of their formulations have been watered down and altered but they do promise to not contain sulphates, parabens, mineral oil, paraffin and some of the other healthy hair care big bads.…

Progress Check – September 2017

If you saw my last post¬†you’ll know that I started a little craft project up in my hair. I’m still not sure how I feel about that but it’s all in aid of getting a head full of good, healthy hair. Progress is key, no matter how small. I will have to come to terms with the fact that in order for me to get to my desired length (#journeytotailbonelength), I will need to lose some hair. Anyway, there have been other goings on in the journey from being Woeful and getting to FroFull. Here’s the rundown…

Snip, Snip, Snip: Why Trimming Is Fundamental

Trimming. I didn’t want to do it. I really didn’t want to do it. I even went on a forum asking if my “symptoms” meant I actually needed to trim. I knew they did, I just didn’t want to admit it. I DID NOT WANT TO TRIM MY HAIR. Especially since the fro was looking frolicious at my last length check.

Why I Don’t Vlog

Honestly, there are a ¬†million reasons why I chose to blog rather than vlog and videos like this make me wonder why anybody does?! We need them so this doesn’t happen to us! #vloggersoftheworld I take my invisible hat off to you!

End Of Tub Review: As I Am Coconut CoWash – Cleansing Cream Conditioner

This is a product that my lovely mother bought for me on one of her trips to the US. She’s been there a few times in the last couple of years without me, may I add, no bitterness…at all. I was so excited to crack this open would be an understatement. There are lots of products in lots of lists of the best conditioner, the best co-wash, this and that. I don’t want to be guided by others on MY journey of discovery. I couldn’t ignore all the positive reviews of this product. And the fact that my Mum paid…

Length Check – 9 Months

I’m 75% of the way into my 1st year of my healthy hair journey and journey to tailbone length. Hair was measured on the 1st of the month and I can say with complete honesty that I was disappointed. I was at 8.5cm (3.3 inches) which means I had fallen short of the roughly 1 centimetre a month that I had been gaining faithfully up to this point. I know partly why this might be happening. My hair is getting longer which means it is more prone to knot leading to it needing a bit more detangling and manipulation. As…

#hairgoals

I know the perils of hair envy. I have hair envy especially with my hair being so short and where I am wanting it to go. You see all of these beautiful women (and men) with small Afros, medium-sized Afros and Quann Sister size Afros and I think these are all points on my own personal hair journey that I can’t wait to get to. I try to keep my outright jealousy mild envy in check by using these images and people as inspiration. My hair is my hair, it will never be their hair but it’s always nice to…

End Of The Bottle Review: Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk Cleansing Conditioner

One of the things I told myself when I started this blog and shaved all my hair off was to not to be afraid to use different products, to trial as much as I could and feed my curiosity. It’s a good thing that I enjoy it so much as I’m always excited to try something new and see how my hair or my kid’s hair reacts. The first use of this was a bit of a disaster. I put my littlest baby in the bath, opened the conditioner ready to go and put it on the radiator while the…

Hair Today

I just picked my hair out for the first time. Thinking I might start chasing volume rather than length ? (ignore the stuff in my hair, I’m covered in coconut oil for my prepoo). Bring on the fro! Let’s keep growing together! xx Lee xx
