The Inversion Method Part 1 – Upside Down You’re Turning Me…

I came across the Inversion Method on Pinterest because people claiming they can grow their hair 1 inch in 1 week is pin worthy indeed. And yes, that is what they claim. Obviously you can’t verify the timeframe of people’s before and after. But as there doesn’t seem to be a wonder product that’s being advertised, I can’t see why people would lie. Oh how gullible I am! I suppose it could be a conspiracy between all the hair oil companies in the world. However, I’ll try not to be too cynical. There are a lot more people out there…

My Hair Routine: Taking Notes

I work in admin so I think my immediate reaction to things that are new and detailed is to take notes. I think my reaction to pretty much anything is to take notes. I used to have bits of paper all over the place. Then I got a bit more organised and would frantically scribble in notebooks and then scribble out what I had achieved, leading to pages of text you couldn’t read as I’d crossed it all out. Then I noticed the notes section in my phone and had all my notes categorised on there. But these days, I…

Progress Photo

Still at it 6 months later. Growing slowly but definitely growing. I’m most definitely below the 0.5 inches a month that’s the average but I’m starting to get to grips with the realisation that’s not me. And I should be happy I’m not average, right? There isn’t much I can do about it, possibly the Inversion Method which supposedly will increase growth to 1 inch a week. What?! When I say I suppose I’ll give that a try, what I mean is that I will most certainly be doing that every day until the end of time! I’ll talk about…

Progress Check – April 2017

We’re just over a third of the way into the year and I thought I should do a round-up of what I’ve been doing or not doing. I didn’t really have any New Year’s Resolutions other than building on what I had started with my big chop or big shave or giant mistake or whatever you want to call it and seeing where it would all take me. I’ve learnt a few things. I’ve needed to re-learn things. I’m learning that the learning isn’t going to stop soon! Especially since my memory is so poor. That’s when having a blog…

Her Curls

Apparently if you braid or plait your hair and it curls like this at the ends, it means it’s healthy. I’ve been snipping away at her ends a little bit every time I’ve braided them over the last few weeks and this week I styled her hair and the end of every plait curled perfectly. Scissors go bye-bye for a few more weeks now. It was definitely a very satisfying moment for me. I suppose I must be doing something right! I love her hair, I love the way it curls, I love the colour, the feel, everything. I’ve got…

Spritz Me Baby One More Time

I’ve been looking for an easy and effective leave-in spray for myself and the kids. Plus I am really into the idea of making as many of my own products for my hair as possible. I wasn’t sure how to start so I went to my favourite place after Google…Pinterest. I had a picture of a leave-in spray saved on one of my boards and as I had all the ingredients in my cupboard, there was no reason not to try it. It says that it is a great recipe to keep curls defined overnight which obviously isn’t an issue…

Do I Really Look Like A Boy?

One of the many concerns I had when deciding to chop my hair off was whether I would look masculine. I am quite a plain-looking girl, I don’t glam up on a regular basis and due to an overenthusiastic bunch of kids, I don’t often wear earrings as I want to keep my ears intact. With my hair the length it was pre-chop or with the help of extensions, it was clear, I am a girl. Or at least I thought so. You take away all of the things that make it obvious what gender you are and what are…

Length Check – 3 Months

People have been saying to me that my hair is growing so fast and I’ve brushed it off everytime, not really sure what to say. I didn’t think it was growing that fast, I still felt bald and then I brushed my hair out in the last week of January at around the 12 week mark and I was amazed. My hair has grown! Hair does grow! MY hair does grow! The results of the length check…duh, duh, duh – 1 and 1/8 inches (at it’s longest point). Wahoo! You probably think I’m a fool to be so proud of…

 Just A Quick ACV Update

So the last time I used Apple Cider Vinegar I was an ACV virgin. I’m definitely not an expert now but my second attempt was a massive success. This time I mixed it with the Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Smoothing Shampoo. The initial plan going into wash day was to put the shampoo, vinegar and some water into a spray bottle and mist myself. However when I got into the shower it was just taking too long to get from bottle to follicle. Instead I ended up taking the sprayer off and dousing myself with it. Massaged it in,  went…
