End Of Tub Review – Cantu Coconut Curling Cream

I think any product that has Coconut in just has to smell good and the Cantu Coconut Curling Cream is no different.

When I say it smells good, the word I originally put in my notes was divine. If the only thing I judged products on was scent, this is well and truly up there, like wow!

What Cantu says

“Defines, conditions and adds manageability revealing soft, elongated curls. Made with pure shea butter and formulated without harsh ingredients, Cantu restores your real authentic beauty. Embrace your curly, coily or wavy hair with Cantu.”

Cantu is definitely a popular and trusted brand. I would love if this product was aimed at kinky hair too but you can’t have everything. I guess this will just have to work for the back third of my head only! However, with ingredients like  Shea Butter and Coconut, you’re off to a good start, like with the Eden Bodyworks products I tried some time ago. Although, I find it a little weird that Coconut is not mentioned in the blurb.

I’ve tried a couple of their products before and reviewed a kids one a little while ago. And to be fair, it didn’t attain Holy Grail status but is possibly worthy of an honourable mention.

What I found with this particular Cantu product, the Coconut Curling Cream, was that a little goes a long way. Which is great for a family with 4 curly/ coily people in it. However, it’s not one of those creams that absorbs easily so make sure you give yourself time for it to do that before you go anywhere important. Once dried, it doesn’t flake so no need to worry.

I went against my own personal rules of doing anything to mine and the kids hair while dry and had fairly decent results using this cream. However, by following the instructions and using it on damp hair you get much better results for your curls and the feeling of softer, more moisturised hair.

The first time I used this, I was going through my very short lived phase of using homemade flaxseed gel. It’s not hard to make, it’s just a bit of a faff. What I found was that the kids curls were poppin’, but was it the flaxseed gel or the Curling Cream? I don’t know but I think both used together where quite the combo. I think the addition of the gel helped the more defined curls stay around a little longer and the cream made them feel good.

It’s a nice little product, it works and it smells good. I would recommend giving it a try, even if it doesn’t make it into your forever list, I can see this being a decent go to for many. Oh and shock of all shocks (to me anyway), there are a load of Cantu products available at Sainsbury’s! Who knew? Probably only online though…

Let’s keep growing together!!
