Wash Day Notes: Wash And Go?

I’ve been battling the detangling demons with my kids for a while, specifically with my eldest. We’ve found our groove, moving from protective style to protective style. It’s been great. She’s even taking some responsibility for her hair. It seems that I’m clearly heavy handed because she brushes her hair just fine by herself. Not as thorough as me but she’s only 8. HOWEVER…

Wash Day Notes: Sometime From October 2020

So it was a bit optimistic to think that I would be able to do a blog post about my wash days every few weeks. Yea…no, that’s not going to happen. This feature will definitely be a once in a while sort of thing. But this one is kind of special. Because I’m using generic shampoo and conditioner, or more specifically, gift set Shampoo and Conditioner. Extra special due to it’s mundanity. Enter Baylis & Harding. Who else gets these gift sets every Christmas? ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿพ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿพ

Wash Day Review: Jim + Henry Small Set

I remember coming across Jim + Henry very early on in my healthy hair journey. I’m not sure when the other products were introduced to the brand but I clearly remember seeing Eight and thinking, wow! That’s the kind of hair care I aspire to own and use! And finally, in 2020, it’s mine…mwahahaha!

Detangling: Something That Works?

A little while, like 8 months ago, so not that little, I was planning on starting a seriesย on detangling. I was particularly exasperated at the time with all 3 kids hair. If it wasn’t for the crying and childhood trauma it would likely cause, I’d do to theirs what I did to mine. In a heartbeat. Shave it all off! But maybe I’ve found something that works?

Ingredient Spotlight

SPOTLIGHT: Coconut Oil

I recently reviewed the EDEN BodyWorks Coconut and Shea CoWash and Masque. One of the hero ingredients is obviously Coconut Oil. And any new or old naturalista knows that for a lot of us, Coconut Oil is an essential ingredient. Now while I liked it in the EDEN BodyWorks, me and Coconut Oil have fallen out. It’s gone from Holy Grail to holy fail. Yes I did just say that!

End Of The Range Review: Flora & Curl

It’s possible you may not have heard of Flora & Curl but if you have a few curly ladies on your Instagram feed you may have seen them using this new British brand of beautifully handmade hair products to treat their curls and coils and it is such a treat! I can’t say I’ve been following them since day 1, I’ve only actually had my Instagram account since October of last year but I was there on product launch day with my debit card eagerly waiting to be able to buy some, proud to be what I hoped was the…

Spritz Me Baby One More Time

I’ve been looking for an easy and effective leave-in spray for myself and the kids. Plus I am really into the idea of making as many of my own products for my hair as possible. I wasn’t sure how to start so I went to my favourite place after Google…Pinterest. I had a picture of a leave-in spray saved on one of my boards and as I had all the ingredients in my cupboard, there was no reason not to try it. It says that it is a great recipe to keep curls defined overnight which obviously isn’t an issue…
