SPOTLIGHT: Almonds

I don’t like nuts unless they’re chocolate covered. I’m a woman of simple tastes. But I learnt very early on in my healthy hair journey that when it comes to oils and nuts, Almond (or more specifically, Sweet Almond) is a super oil. Also, apparently, Almonds aren’t actually nuts? Who knew?!

DIY Face Mask: First And Only Attempt?

Whew, what a crazy ride we’re on right now! A few months ago feels like a different world. As much as I’m a homebody and like staying home, I never thought it would be something I had to do in order to look after myself and others. We’re in the midst of a global pandemic. It seems we may be out of the worst of it (this is debatable) but in order to get back to some sense of normality, we may have to get very comfortable with face masks. As you can see already, the mask I ended up…

End Of The Range Review: Soap & Glory (Part 1)

A few days after starting the Soap & Glory product range in early July, I got ID’ed for a scratchcard…twice. I didn’t have my driving licence so I walked away from the till, embarrassed and robbed of my almost definite winning scratchcards. Needless to say I haven’t tried buying a card since but I attribute this recent change in how people view my age 100% down to this range of products…haha, not quite! But it’s quite the curious coincidence.

End Of Sachet: Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Cucumber Peel-Off

I felt like I must have tried the whole Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven range until I went to their website and realised that I haven’t even scratched the surface. They do self heating masks, I need me some of that! Anyway this is the review of the Cucumber Peel-Off Mask. “We pulped cucumbers and juiced citrus goodness to give your skin a blast of freshness and help remove dirt and grime. Gently peel off this mask once a week to reveal a fresh and revived new you.” I love the blurb and all of the descriptions on the packaging as…

End Of Sachet Review: 7th Heaven Strawberry Souffle Face Mask

I will start by telling you that I had high hopes for this mask. It sounds great, Strawberry Souffle, yum. It makes you think of strawberries obviously (high in vitamin C, acidic so helpful with scars and great for tightening pores – see here for more) but the souffle part had me thinking I might have a cheeky little lick of my upper lip while it dried. I didn’t, I promise, because this is not food but it does smell good enough to eat. It has an extremely thick consistency, like cream cheess almost. This makes applying it very easy…

End Of Sachet Review: 7th Heaven Argan Oil Mud

So Sunday treat again. Face mask time!! This one had a bit of an odd smell to me. Maybe it was the Argan Oil but I wasn’t feeling it. It dried really quickly which was great because I wanted it off. It did tighten very quickly and I find that these creamy type masks do seem to do that, the ones from this range anyway. Argan Oil is great for softening skin and has a lot of Vitamin E in which is great for moisturising, I definitely need that. I have tried it in my hair but I don’t think…

End Of The Tube Review: Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Peel Off Face Mask

Sunday nights have become my Face Mask Night and I really look forward to it. I’m not one to primp and pamper myself but I am learning as time goes by that I need to do more for me. When I will fit all this in? I don’t know, but its needed. Every Sunday I spread whatever on my face and relax because what else can I do? I certainly can’t do housework – that’s a no no. Pick up children – well they’re in bed. Change nappies -nope it’s break time from that. Write my blog – I’m too…
