Braid Removal: A Pictorial

I can’t even remember when I actually had these particular braids in. But when I was looking through the blog for ideas I came across these photos saved in the gallery. So we are going to just go with that! My hair is currently in mini twists. It’s low maintenance and when I swish my head side to side, my hair comes with me. It’s a nice feeling that people with straight or loose curls most likely take for granted. I have the movement of box braids without the weight and hassle but then again I don’t have the length!…

*REPOST* End Of Bottle Review: Palmer’s Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioners

***This is my blog’s most viewed post and unsurprisingly it is one of my favourite products on my journey so far. I’m in a bit of a blogging slump, possibly because I know I’ll be taking some time off in a few weeks and my mind is already ready to shut down. But while I’m finding my way again, I thought I’d repost the post that keeps me going. It literally makes up about 20% of my total views at the moment! End Of The Bottle Review: Palmer’s Manuka Flower Honey Nourishing Conditioner

This stuff smells delightful. Smell is very important to me when it comes to the products I put on my hair and skin. I suppose after the visual of the product, the smell is the next way you experience it. If it smells bad, it will psychologically affect how you experience the product. You’re not going to enjoy something that smells awful as it touches your hair and skin. This smells great so when it says nourishing, you expect it to be really good for your hair. Well let’s see how that pans out.

End Of Bottle Review: Palmer’s Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioners

When I decided to buy my first co-wash I had no idea what I was doing. In the UK, you can’t just walk into your local supermarket and buy hair products specifically for black hair/ kinky hair. You might find curly hair products if you’re lucky and if you do, the selection is small. My usual place to buy products for hair, skin or beauty is Boots and they had none. My next choice was Superdrug and in store they had nothing.

Progress Check – June 2017

It’s that time of year for another little progress check. I suppose the first thing I need to say is that the hair is growing and I actually believe it. I think I spent the first few months of this journey in denial that anything was happening up top but I can see it, I believe it and I am starting to love it. I spent the last few months thinking that I would be my own natural hair meme and that the 5 in my pic above would be me on the fifth year hair anniversary sporting the same…
