Length Check – 3 Months

People have been saying to me that my hair is growing so fast and I’ve brushed it off everytime, not really sure what to say. I didn’t think it was growing that fast, I still felt bald and then I brushed my hair out in the last week of January at around the 12 week mark and I was amazed.

My hair has grown! Hair does grow! MY hair does grow! The results of the length check…duh, duh, duh – 1 and 1/8 inches (at it’s longest point). Wahoo!

You probably think I’m a fool to be so proud of so little but it really is huge to me in the context of my greater goals. I am on track for just over 4 inches by the time I hit my 1 year hair-versary. When I originally cut my hair, I was still under the illusion that I would be getting 0.5inches every month, meaning 6 inches a year, hitting my 24 inch tailbone length goal in 6 years. I foolishly didn’t take into account trims, natural breakage and let’s face it, some neglect.

It didn’t take long for reality to hit that my goal, in the timeframe I hoped, was unattainable.

On the positive side, I should hopefully have bra strap length hair within 5 years. That’s the length I want to live with for the rest of my life so that will be a happy day. Tailbone length is the goal I set to push myself and that first 1 and 1/8 inches is a great first step. I can’t wait to see where I am at my next check in about 12 weeks time.

Let’s keep growing together!
